A man has been charged over a large haul of alleged stolen copper wiring and drugs.
Police were searching for unlawful campers at a Fernvale rest stop on July 15 when they spotted a Toyota Kluger and allegedly found stripped and unstripped copper wire inside.
The vehicle was subsequently seized for further examination and transported to a secure location.
Officers then allegedly uncovered more than 30 kilograms of wiring, along with power tools, batteries, a charger and illicit drugs inside the vehicle.
A 37-year-old man has been charged with one count each of possession of suspected stolen property, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on August 6.
Investigations into the ownership of the recovered copper and associated property remain ongoing.
Police urge anyone who believes the recovered property may belong to them, or anyone with information relating to the theft of copper wiring, to contact police.
