Australia’s top bull riders and some of the country’s toughest bulls are headed to Ipswich for the bi-annual Bull-O-Rama this weekend.

The event, held in partnership with the National Rodeo Association, takes over the Ipswich Showgrounds on Saturday night, with mini bulls, junior and novice competitions leading into the open bull riding showdown.

Ipswich Show Society President Darren Zanow said preparations are in full swing.

“It’s all systems go out here at the showgrounds today and right through to the eve of the Bull-O-Rama.

“We have got our grandstand seating going up, the bars going in, the stage is going in and yards are getting set up for the cattle to arrive here,” he said.

There’ll be plenty of entertainment too, with live music from Riley Ziskey, whip-cracking demonstrations, the crowd-favourite dog high jump competition, plus an after-party with DJ Willie Pake and a licensed bar.
