Woman critically injured in school bus and vehicle crash in Somerset

A woman has been airlifted to hospital with critical injuries following a horror school bus and vehicle crash in the Somerset region.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Esk Crows Nest Road at Biarra at just after 8 this morning.

Queensland Ambulance said the woman was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with significant head and leg injuries.

Two patients in their teens were assessed by paramedics at the scene.

One adult patient was taken to Esk Hospital with minor injuries.

According to Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, one person was trapped in their vehicle with crews using hydraulic cutting gear to free them from the wreckage.

Queensland Police said the officers and fire and rescue crews are still on scene with motorists urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
