Woman charged after ramming police vehicles

A woman has been charged after allegedly ramming two police vehicles in West Ipswich.

Police say that officers were called after an alleged stolen vehicle was observed parked outside a takeaway restaurant on Tuesday night. 

It’s alleged the woman then attempted to leave in the vehicle, reversing into one police car before accelerating into the other.

The 26-year-old was arrested and taken into custody.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Shailer Park address on October 27.

The vehicle was also bearing number plates allegedly stolen from a Black BMW hatchback on October 6.

A 26-year-old Gailes woman has been charged with one count each of damaging emergency vehicle when operating a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess tainted property, receiving tainted property, driving without a licence, and using, or permitting use of vehicle for which a number plate attached given granted for another vehicle.

She appeared in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
