Water Bombing and surveillance aircraft have been brought in to battle a large bushfire at Fordsdale near Gatton in the Lockyer Valley this afternoon.
The blaze is currently burning in rough bushland and is not considered a threat to property.
Queensland Fire Department says that the bushfire flared up this morning after initially breaking out along Spinach Creek Road on Sunday.
There are nearly a dozen rural and urban firefighters working on the ground cutting breaks to contain the blaze.
However, the bushfire has managed to jump the road and is now heading in a South to South-Westerly direction.
Locals are also being urged to take precautions with heavy smoke in the area.
