Two men, dog die in UTV crash on Somerset property

Two men and a dog have been killed in crash on a private property at Sandy Creek in the Somerset region.

Police say that at around 1.30pm on Monday, an utility terrain vehicle (UTV) went over an embankment and hit a tree on the property on Cedar Road.

The 59-year-old male driver and the 75-year-old male passenger died at the scene.

A 33-year-old woman, who was also a passenger, was airlifted to Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital with critical injuries.

While another woman, aged in her 50s, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment.

A dog was also in the vehicle and died as a result of the crash.

The UTV has been towed for mechanical inspection.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing.
