A Lockyer Valley man has been charged over a shocking assault on the northern Gold Coast that saw a man thrown from a balcony, leaving him with serious spinal injuries.
The 40-year-old Lockrose man is the second offender to be charged with grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm while armed in company.
A Forest Lake man was arrested and charged on Tuesday.
Police allege that it occurred when three men went to a Staplyton man’s home demanding a refund on a 2013 Nissan Pulsar, which had been purchased three days prior.
A disturbance erupted between the group before the 52-year-old was thrown from a first floor verandah onto the ground below.
It’s alleged he was further assaulted while on the ground, before the trio fled in a Volkswagen van.
The victim sustained serious spinal injuries requiring surgery.
Both men are due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 17.
Investigations are continuing.
