Flight Lieutenant Jack from Number One Squadron said that it was a massive honour to conduct the flypasts on ANZAC Day.

“I’m extremely honoured by it, it’s incredible to be able to honour those who are serving today and serving in the past.

“It’s all about getting together as the ANZAC’s did back in the day and all of Australia reflecting on the contribution of the ADF and Defence personnel,” he said.

Flight Lieutenant Jack said that crews will have to make sure they are bang on time for the flypasts through the local region today.

“We have been given a couple of high priority passings and we will be spot on with the timings there.

“In some places we will be 250 feet above the ground — that’s about 80 metres and then we will be going fast at 350 knots, which is about 700 kilometres an hour,” he said.

Flight Lieutenant Jack said that there has been quite a bit of preparation ahead of the ANZAC Day commemorations.

“We’ve been mainly co-ordinating with the centres just to make sure we can give people what they want and what they have requested.

“There’s also been a lot of preparation in where we come from, what the weather is doing and some hazards as well out there,” he said
