Emergency declaration revoked at Booval following gas leak

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a gas leak in Booval this morning, June 2.

About 11.30am, police and emergency services were called following reports of a two-vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of Clifton Street and Alexandra Street.

Initial information indicates, one of the vehicles has struck a high-pressure gas main.

Police have established an exclusion zone around the area with boundaries encompassing Alexandra Street, Clifton Street, Bergin Street and Dudleigh Street.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and residents in the exclusion zone are urged to remain inside with all their windows and doors closed.
