Two rural properties in the Toowoomba region are today at the centre of an alleged murder investigation.
Police divers and cadaver dogs have been brought in to search a Cressbrook Creek property for the body of Paul Woods, who disappeared in suspicious circumstances two weeks ago.
A second property at Hampton has also been declared a crime scene.
It comes after officers charged Shaun James Smoothy with murder and dismembering a corpse, despite the absence of a body.
He fronted a Gold Coast court earlier today and has been remanded in custody.
He did not enter a plea.
His case has been adjourned until November 18.

Meanwhile, Police are appealing for information in relation to the missing man’s suspicious disappearance.
They have today released images of Paul Wood’s motorcycle (pictured below).
Police believe Mr Woods was last seen riding the unregistered blue and white Yamaha 450 motorbike on the afternoon of Saturday, 5 October, between the Hampton and Cressbrook Creek area.
Anyone with relevant CCTV footage or dashcam is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
