Man rams into police car with alleged stolen Mercedes

A man has been charged for allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle into a stationary police car in South Toowoomba.

Police say that they were called to Windmill Street on Sunday February 22 following reports of a man unconscious sitting in a white Mercedes-Benz C200.

It’s then alleged that the 19 year old Kearney’s Springs man attempted to immobilize the stolen vehicle before colliding with the police car.

He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

No one was injured.

Police will further allege the Mercedes was stolen from a Drayton address on February 21.

A 19-year-old Kearneys Spring man has been charged with one count each of burglary, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehcile while adversely affected, unlicenced driving and fail to provide specimen of blood.

He appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday.

Investigations continue.
