A total fire ban has been extended across Southern Queensland.
It’s due to heightened fire conditions in the region with the ban in place until next Wednesday (October 8).
The ban now includes almost all regions in South East Queensland including Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim and Lockyer Valley.

It also includes Brisbane, Noosa, Moreton Bay, Redland, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast Local Government Areas.
All open fires are prohibited and permits which have been issued to light fires are suspended.
