Home destroyed in early morning blaze

A home has gone up in flames in the early hours of this morning in North Ipswich.

Emergency crews were called around 4.11am after reports the timber home on Holmes Street was fully engulfed.

Five firefighter trucks worked together and had the blaze extinguished just before 5.00am.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokespersons says a neighbouring property was evacuated with the fire spreading to nearby grass.

A crime scene has been declared with police and the Fire Investigation Unit expected to attend the scene later this morning.
