FERNVALE GOES ORANGE FOR SEL 18th July | From 11am Fernvale Hotel Motel (The Yellow Pub)       1490 Brisbane Valley Highway, Fernvale   There will be Raffles, Auctions, Live Music, Free Face Painting and a Sausage Sizzle (gold coin donation)    An awesome prize that can Origin Jersey signed by Jonathan Thurston all framed could be yours on the night   We are reaching out to share the story of our dear friend Sel, who has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at just 47 years of age. Sel’s condition has progressed rapidly and has had a profound impact on his health and daily life. He has a rare, aggressive form of MS, and at this stage his working future is unknown. He is currently undergoing further assessment with his MS and neurology teams to determine the next steps and ongoing treatment plan. Sel also developed sepsis while in hospital, and is now focusing on recovery from this serious complication as he continues to regain strength. This sudden and life-changing diagnosis has placed significant emotional and financial strain on Sel and his family. Sel is a devoted partner and a loving father, and his family means everything to him. They are now facing an incredibly challenging time, navigating both the immediate health impacts and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. This situation also highlights the importance of raising awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. MS can affect anyone, often without warning, and its impact can be rapid and life-altering. By sharing Sel’s story, we hope to not only support him and his family but also help increase understanding of this condition and the challenges faced by those living with it. As a community, we want to come together to support Sel and his family in any way we can. We are organising a fundraiser to help ease some of the financial pressure and to show Sel that he is not facing this journey alone. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference. Your support will help provide stability for Sel and his family during this difficult time and allow them to focus on what matters most — his health and being together.
