Man charged with Toowoomba mum Jana Armstrong’s murder

A man accused of allegedly killing a Toowoomba mum is due to face court for the first time today.

30-year-old Jana Armstrong’s body was found by a group of wildlife hunters in bushland at Redbank Creek near Esk late Saturday night following a five-day search.

Her former partner, a 48-year-old Harristown man, is now charged with domestic violence murder.

He was arrested after Darling Downs detectives executed a search warrant at a West Street address yesterday.

He is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.

Police continue to appeal to anyone with information, or anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or other vision, to contact police.

Investigators are particularly interested in dashcam or CCTV vision between Toowoomba and Esk, along Esk Hampton Road and the New England Highway, between 10.30pm on 7 July and 1.30am on 8 July.

Meanwhile, Tributes are pouring in for 30-year-old Jana Armstrong and her family following her tragic death.

Jana leaves behind her 4-month-old baby boy.
