Horses to Horsepower Family Fun Day
Join us for a fun day seeing how transport has moved from horse power to horsepower!
Visit the Clydesdale horse and see some of the vehicles and machines they pulled in days gone by. See veteran and vintage cars and motorbikes that demonstrate how the invention of mechanical engines changed our means of transport over time.
Check out the restored heritage engines on display.
Hear local author Toni Risson talk on the history of transport and the Beaumont Transport story at 11am.
Enjoy Mr Magic’s show at 11.30am and play some old-fashioned games together all day.
See the Needle Stack created by IHSi Blacksmiths and take photos of your family sitting in a buggy harnessed to Banjo – a metal horse created by our own Ned Kelly.
Horse-drawn vehicles, a penny-farthing bicycle, and displays throughout the centre will enchant you.
Children can pet the small animals in Old Mac’s Travelling Farm, sit in the old schoolroom and create a collage to take home.
A Heritage bus will take you around the centre and another will take passengers along the road for short trips, leaving every hour on the half-hour. Experience travelling without air conditioning for a few minutes – all included in your entry ticket!
Food, drinks and ice creams will be available as will stalls with a range of interesting items for sale.
Raffles will be drawn at 1.30pm, so get your tickets in good time.
