Ipswich teen charged after allegedly driving through fatal crash scene

Police have charged an 18-year-old man with dangerous driving offences, including endangering a police officer, following an alleged incident at Brassall on Sunday, June 15.

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit and partner agencies were in attendance at the scene of a fatal traffic crash at Fernvale Road around 1:40am when it will be alleged a black Holden Commodore utility travelled through a police roadblock.

It will be further alleged the ute then proceeded to drive directly through the crash scene, narrowly missing police officers and other agency staff.

The vehicle then continued and left the area.

Following subsequent investigations, officers yesterday attended a Rowland Terrace, Coalfall address, where they located the Commodore and arrested an 18-year-old Coalfall man.

He has been charged with driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence, driving without a license plate attached, endangering police officer when driving a motor vehicle.

He was remanded in custody today and is due to face Ipswich Magistrates Court on June 18.
