Two food delivery drivers targeted by thieves in West Ipswich and Riverview

Police are investigating the robbery and attempted armed robbery of two food delivery drivers in Ipswich last night, June 12.

At approximately 8.20pm a 27-year-old man was delivering food to an Omar Street address in West Ipswich when he was approached by a man and two teenage girls.

When the man left the scene shortly afterwards, it is alleged the two girls pushed the driver repeatedly before stealing food and a bag containing a sum of money, before running into a unit complex.

The driver a 27-year-old Deebing Heights man was not injured.

Later that night around 10.30pm a 20-year-old woman arrived at a Young Street property at Riverview to deliver food, however when she approached the front door, she was informed by the homeowner they had not made the order.

When the woman was returning to her vehicle, she was approached by three youths who threatened her with a knife, demanding her phone and car keys.

After the woman complied the offenders attempted to drive off in the victim’s car, but for unknown reasons left the scene on foot.

The 20-year-old Bellbird Park woman was not physically injured.

All three offenders had their faces covered.
