Young Ipswich tennis fan meets her hero

A surprise for a young FERNVALE tennis fan.

9 year old STEPHANIE TAYLOR was picked – from a crowd of thousands – to help celebrate VICTORIA AZERENKO’s win at Brisbane International – by lifting up the trophy.

But Stephanie admits,  there was a scary moment, when she her hands got sweaty after shaking Victoria’s hand, which then caused her to lose her grip on the award and she thought she nearly dropped it.

“I thought, am I dreaming or something?” Stephanie said after Azarenka brought her onto the court to hold the trophy after her 6-3, 6-1 win against Angelique Kerber.

A dream come true to meet her hero – a very happy nine year old Fernvale girl Stephanie Taylor.
