
Ipswich’s Ash Barty has returned home following the biggest win of her career, declaring she can be a major factor in the clay court season, as she prepares for the Fed Cup tie, before the French Open next month.
The 23-year-old is looking tanned and relaxed after a golden week in Miami, where she took out one of the W.T.A’s most-prestigious events, and moved to No.9 in the world, cracking the top 10 for the first time.
Ash will be Australia’s lead player in the Fed Cup semi-final against Belarus at Brisbane’s Pat Rafter Arena later this month.
