A local teenager has become the Darling Downs fastest ever 50 metre free-styler, after his record breaking swim recently at the Australian Age Championships.
15-year-old Simon Geldenhuys eclipsed a record set by former Toowoomba Olympian, Darren Lange, in the 50-metre freestyle final..with a 23.8 second swim.
Geldenhuys has told the Toowoomba Chronicle – he hopes he can go one better next time.
