Springwood teenager Jacob Miles (pictured right) has scored a major goal, with a spot on the Special Olympics basketball team, and heading to Adelaide next year.
The 16-year-old Rochedale State High student was chosen to represent Queensland at the Games, after success at July’s Special Olympics Australia Junior National Games on the Gold Coast.
His achievements were recognised in State Parliament last week, when Springwood M.P Mick De Brenni spoke of the teen’s battle with Meningitis four years ago.
