In local soccer, the Ipswich-based Western Pride Football Club have ended a 31 year drought, and are the 2017 National Premiership League Queensland Champions, after a last-gasp goal against Moreton Bay United at the weekend.
Five years after entering the comp, the Pride scored a 2-1 win at Briggs Road on Saturday night to grab the Grand Final, and to further cement their A-League aspirations.
