Our local tennis sensation has a lot on her plate until late April.

This week, Ipswich’s Ash Barty starts an eight-tournament trek towards the French Tennis Open, when she plays the W.T.A Indian Wells event in California. 

Barty is seeded 16th in the first of three tournaments she’s playing in the U.S., including Miami and Charleston. 

The Queenslander has a first-round bye in Indian Wells, and will play either Croatian Donna Vekic or Greek Maria Sakkari in the second round. 

After her U.S swing, Ash will return home for a Fed Cup tie against The Netherlands in April at a venue yet to be announced.
