Ipswich’s Ash Barty has broken her Wimbledon duck, by winning through to the second round of the championships.
Ms.Barty’s 7-5, 6-3 success against Swiss Stefanie Voegele ended the former junior champion’s seven-year wait, for a main-draw win at The All England Club.
The 22-year-old will next play former finalist of Wimbledon, Eugenie Bouchard this evening.
