Ipswich’s Ash Barty can become the first Aussie top 10 tennis player in six years, with an extended run at this week’s W.T.A Indian Wells tournament.
Ms.Barty has moved to No.11 on Live rankings, after her 6-3, 6-2 win over American wildcard Jennifer Brady, in the third round.
A win over Ukrainian, Elena Svitolina in the 4th round tomorrow, may be enough to lift the 22-year-old’s rankings points total, for her to be in the top 10 at the end of Indian Wells.
