NRL: Wayne Bennett breaks silence on Craig Bellamy

On the eve of his eight hundredth NRL game as coach, Wayne Bennett has had to defend claims he’s being pushed out the door at the Broncos.
Brisbane CEO Paul White has confirmed the club has spoken with Craig Bellamy about potentially taking over at Red Hill.
Bennett says he put forward Bellamy’s name for succession in 20-20 a month ago.

“I have spent 25 years of my life here.. doing the things that I have done.. good, bad or indifferent.
For me to walk away and leave us in bad shape.. that can’t happen on my watch.
