The Ipswich Tennis Open Tournament will call it game, set and match at the end of this year.
The 15 year event has called it a day, due to rising costs and the lack of sponsorship.
Volunteer organiser, Jill Franklin (pictured) told the Q.T – she’s informed Tennis Queensland, and they tried to turn it around..but the guidelines were too strenuous.

She says the Open also suffered, due to increasing pressure from the Tennis governing bodies and lack of support from the Ipswich City Council.
