Tennis star Ashleigh Barty has thanked Ipswich for a coveted award at a weekend ceremony.
Ash was awarded the Keys to the City of Ipswich at a special presentation on Saturday afternoon.
The number one ranked tennis player in Australia and W.T.A World Number 17 said she was very proud of where she came from.
She told family, friends and supporters she wanted to thank the Ipswich community, and pledged to do all she could to make us proud over the Australian Summer.
Mayor Andrew Antoniolli said the city was extremely proud of Ashleigh, who he described as a true role model for not only her community, but all Australians.
