Queensland’s newest Top Fuel driver will get to show off her skills, in front of a Willowbank Raceway home crowd for the first time this weekend.
Kelly Bettes (pictured) took over the steering duties for Victoria’s Lamattina Top Fuel Racing team last year, and has since competed at Sydney Dragway, Darwin’s Hidden Valley and Alice Springs…but not at home.
She says she expects a lot of family and friends will come out to see her and the Nitro Top Fuel dragsters, for the first time this Saturday.
New Years Thunder marks the second round of the Drag Racing Series championship, and Ms.Bettes will be carrying the Queensland flag against an international field.
