Former Queensland State of Origin coach, Mal Meninga, is sitting on the fence – ahead of the series opener tonight.
This time last year, Big Mal was leading the Maroons to their 19th State Of Origin series win.

But more recently, he’s been attending a New South Wales training session in his role as Australia’s coach.
Meninga says his job is to watch the game without favour.
