Ipswich’s Ash Barty has eased into the third round of the Qatar Tennis Open, after brushing aside Laura Siegemund in straight sets.
Our local World No.1 dispatched her German opponent – 6 – 3, 6 – 2 on her first ever appearance at the Doha tournament.
Ms.Siegemund made it through qualifying unhindered, but was unable to cope with Ashleigh’s greater consistency and serving potency, suffering defeat in one hour and 13 minutes.
