Ipswich’s Ash Barty and fellow Aussie Alex De Minaur have been announced as joint winners, of this year’s Newcombe Medal.
It’s the first time in the tennis award’s nine-year history, that two people have received the sport’s highest individual honour.
Happy to share the coveted award with her compatriot, Ash said it couldn’t have happened to a nicer bloke.
