Andrew Campbell (pictured) has been awarded the City of Ipswich Senior Sportsperson of the Year Award…despite being absent to collect his accolade.
The 27 year-old locally born-and-bred baseballer is currently in Japan playing for the Australian baseball team, and has the chance of starring for his country, when baseball returns to the Olympics for next year’s Tokyo Games.
Andrew continues to play for his Musketeers club at Tivoli and The Brisbane Bandits in the A.B.L, while hoping to win a fifth straight national crown over the Summer, and also in Germany.
