Boy charged over alleged Vic school fight

A Victorian teenager has been charged after a schoolyard fight left another boy with a serious head injury.

Police were called to Wodonga Senior Secondary College on Tuesday morning after a physical altercation in the school yard.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to Wodonga Hospital then flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, an ambulance spokeswoman said.

A hospital spokeswoman said on Thursday morning the boy's condition was stable.

A 15-year-old boy was charged on Wednesday with recklessly causing serious injury and has been bailed to face a children's court at a later date.

The Victorian Education Department said it would not comment as the incident was now a police matter.
