Laidley neighbourhood stoush turns violent

What started as a neighbourhood shouting match in Laidley has ended with a 70-year old man having his arm broken, and with two of his neighbours facing assault charges.

Police have charged a man 23 year old man and a 16 year old boy after what they are calling the serious assault of two men.

They say the man and boy, armed with sticks and a baseball bat, bashed a 70-year-old man and a 50 year old man.

The 70 year old ended up with a broken arm, bruising and lacerations - the 50 year old had only superficial injuries.

A 23-year-old man will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on September 19 - and a 16-year-old boy has also been charged.
