Officer struck by stolen vehicle at Salisbury

Police are investigating after an officer was struck by a stolen vehicle at Salisbury this morning.

The male officer was conducting speed checks on Orange Grove Road and attempted to intercept a vehicle by entering the roadway on foot shortly before 6.30am.

The vehicle was then driven directly at the officer who was struck. He is currently in a stable condition, however is currently undergoing further medical assessment.

The vehicle left the scene and has since been located abandoned on Eaton Place at Wishart.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a white Mercedes sedan in the Wishart area between 6.40 and 6.50am this morning to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
