Warning of severe storms for Somerset, Western Downs, Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley areas

Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES
For people in parts of Somerset, Western Downs, Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley Council Areas.
Issued at 6:56 am Wednesday, 5 May 2021.
Large hail and/or large accumulations of small hail possible.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:50 am, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area north of Toowoomba and Macalister. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Dalby, the area north of Dalby and Crows Nest by 7:20 am and Esk, the area east of Dalby and the area northeast of Dalby by 7:50 am.
Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
    * Move your car under cover or away from trees.
    * Secure loose outdoor items.
    * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
    * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
    * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
    * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
The next warning is due to be issued by 8:00 am.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:30 am, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar. Thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect the area north of Toowoomba, Crows Nest and Hampton by 7:00 am and Esk, the area southwest of Esk and the area west of Esk by 7:30 am.
Damaging winds, large hail and/or large accumulations of small hail are possible.

Issued at 6:05 am Wednesday, 5 May 2021.
Large hail and/or large accumulations of small hail possible.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:00 am, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Jondaryan. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Oakey and Haden by 6:30 am and the area northwest of Toowoomba, the area north of Toowoomba and Crows Nest by 7:00 am.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
    * Move your car under cover.
    * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
    * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
    * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
    * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
The next warning is due to be issued by 7:05 am.
