Widespread areas of the state are seeing rainfall this afternoon.
The Weather Bureau says it due to a trough, which moved in from the Northern Territory to Western Queensland.
It can now be seen on the radar stretching along the coast from Rockhampton right down to the border.
Forecaster Rosa Hoff says some inland areas have seen August records broken:
"Ballara has recorded 55.6 millimetres breaking their record set in 2004 and Thargomindah recorded 39.8 millimetres breaking their August record set in 2014".
