Health authorities have put in place tough new measures in aged facilities in the southeast in an effort to prevent COVID community transmission similar to that of Victoria.
It's also in response to two young women, both aged 19, testing positive to coronavirus after returning from Melbourne last week.
It's alleged the teens failed to go into quarantine when returning from Victoria and instead visited restaurants, shops, a church and schools in areas of Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich over eight days .
The new COVID restrictions mean that facilities in regions such as Metro South and West Moreton are now closed to visitors.
