Pandemic pushes up DV order infractions

There's been a record number of domestic violence orders broken in Queensland during the Covid lockdown.

While figures in Ipswich remain steady at 155 cases per month, other parts of the state have seen a ten to 30 per cent rise in DV breaches.

Ali Howarth from 1800 Respect said people who are going through a domestic violence situation need to know there is help available.

It's so important that people know that they can reach out for support and that violence or abuse is never ok, she said.
