Woeful water levels return to the Wivenhoe

With the Wivenhoe Dam's water level again dropping below 50%, it marks an ominous milestone to kick off Winter in the Somerset and Lockyer Valley regions.

We're now typically into the driest part of the year, and with the drought, bushfires, and now Coronavirus clobbering local and farmers, this Winter is set to be even more arduous than most.

Both the Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams haven't recovered from consecutive poor wet seasons.

In fact, Wivenhoe remains at its lowest level since the Millennium Drought broke in 2009, and its water level is significantly lower now, than it was at the same time last year.
