An emergency declared as flood waters threaten St.George

Police have made an emergency declaration for residents in and around St.George in the state's south-west, after a relentless three-day deluge caused rivers to flood.
Major flooding is occurring along parts of the Maranoa and Balonne Rivers, with a major flood peak of up to 12 and a half metres possible at St George ovenight into Thursday.
The emergency declaration area encompasses the Balonne River between E J Beardmore Dam to the Queensland, New South Wales border.
