BUSHFIRE UPDATE: Six properties lost in bushfires at Pechey

Firefighters will make the most of cooler conditions to strengthen containment lines around major fires still burning in the Scenic Rim and on the Darling Downs today.
The mercury nudged  40 degrees in fire ravaged areas yesterday but more mild temperatures are forecast today.
About 60 fires are still burning across Queensland but none are posing an immediate threat to property.
Aircraft are continuing to fight one of the largest fires, the Pechey blaze, which has threatened communities north of Toowoomba 
Earlier today, authorities confirmed that fire had destroyed six homes near Ravensbourne.
TOOWOOMBA
CRESSBROOK CREEK AND CROWS NEST (PART OF THE PECHEY FIRE) -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
Locals are being advised to 'Stay Informed about a bushfire burning on the northern side of Ravensbourne.
The fire continues to burn between Ravensbourne and the outskirts of Crows Nest. 
Crews are currently on scene blackening out hot spots. Aircraft will be operating in the area throughout the day and heavy machinery is being used to strengthen containment lines. 
Large trees and other debris have fallen across the road as a result of this bushfire, so motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
Motorists travelling northbound on Perseverance Dam Road are advised there are currently road closures in place at the Perseverance Dam Road and Grapetree Road intersection. 
Road closures remain in place for motorists heading east on Three Mile Road, at the Jones Road intersection. Seventeen Mile Road, beyond Walsh Road remains closed. Sebastapool Road, between Dahl Road and Bluff Road, is also closed.
An evacuation centre is open at the Crows Nest Showgrounds, New England Highway near Showgrounds Terrace.
The evacuation centre at Highfields Recreation Centre, O’Brien Road, Highfields will be also be open. 
RAVENSBOURNE (PART OF THE PECHEY FIRE) -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
Ravensbourne residents are now at a 'Stay Informed' Advice level as a bushfire continues to burn in the area.
The fire is smouldering on both sides of Esk Hampton Road between Horrex Road and Brennan Road, with small areas of fire continuing to actively burn. 
There is a very high fire danger rating for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt which will make conditions very challenging for firefighters. 
An evacuation centre remains open at the Crows Nest Showgrounds, New England Highway near Showgrounds Terrace. 
The evacuation centre at Highfields Recreation Centre, O’Brien Road, Highfields will re-open today. 
Large trees and other debris have fallen across the road as a result of this bushfire, so motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
Esk Hampton Road is open to local traffic only between the New England Highway at Hampton and Esk. 
Esk Hampton Road is closed to all traffic between Horrex Road and Regent Road, Ravensbourne. 
SCENIC RIM
BARNEY VIEW (MT BARNEY FIRE) -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
Locals are being told to keep up to date on a bushfire burning in the Mount Barney National Park.
The fire is currently burning in an inaccessible part of Mount Barney National Park, to the west of Yellow Pinch, near the Queensland and New South Wales border.
The Mount Lindesay Highway remains closed between Rathdowney and Woodenbong due to this fire
Mount Barney National Park, including Lower Portals remains closed.
MT LINDESAY (PART OF MT BARNEY FIRE) -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
A 'Stay Informed' alert is now in place for a bushfire burning at Mt.Lindesay.
The bushfire continues to burn in the vicinity of Hardgrave Road and Old Mount Lindesay Road, Mount Lindesay.
Residents who have left the area are advised it is still too unsafe to return due to falling trees. 
This is part of a much larger fire burning on multiple fronts within the Mount Lindesay National Park, on both the New South Wales and Queensland side of the border.
The Mount Lindesay Highway remains closed between Woodenbong in NSW and Rathdowney
PALEN CREEK (PART OF MT BARNEY FIRE) -- ADVICE - STAY INFORMED
Residents are being told to 'Stay Informed' about a large bushfire burning in Palen Creek.
The bushfire continues to burn in an inaccessible part of Mount Barney National Park on both sides of the Queensland and New South Wales border.
Part of the fire is travelling in a northerly direction towards Mount Lindesay Highway, Byrne Road, Richards Road, Cashell Road, Palen Creek School Road and Back Creek Road, Palen Creek.
Residents who have left the area are advised it is still too unsafe to return due to falling trees. 
The Mount Lindesay Highway remains closed between Rathdowney and Woodenbong due to this fire.
TREGONY (PART OF CLUMBER FIRE) -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
A 'Stay Informed' advice has been issued for a slow-moving bushfire burning in Tregony.
The fire continues to burn to the south of Cross Road, Tregony in the Spicers Peak Nature Reserve. 
The Cunningham Highway remains closed between Lake Moogerah Road and the Fisher Park Truck Stop, due to the possibility of falling trees and rocks as a result of the fire.
SPICERS PEAK LODGE (PART OF CLUMBER FIRE) -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
A bushfire continues to burn at Spicers Peak Lodge.
Locals are advised to 'Stay Informed' a fire continues to burn to the west of Spicers Peak Lodge, near the Swanfels State Forest. 
Residents are advised it is still not safe to return to this area. 
The Cunningham Highway remains closed at Cunninghams Gap due to this fire.
CLUMBER AND MOOGERAH 
Fire crews are monitoring a bushfire burning in the vicinity of Lake Moogerah Road, Spicers Gap Road and the Cunningham Highway at Clumber. 
This fire is posing no threat to property at this time.
BINNA BURRA AND NATURAL BRIDGE
Fire crews continue to patrol and monitor a bushfire burning south of Binna Burra and Natural Bridge.
The fire is burning within containment lines and posing no threat to property at this time. 
SOUTHERN DOWNS
SWANFELS -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
A 'Stay Informed' Advice remains in place as a bushfire continues to burn at Swanfels.
The blaze continues to burn between McMasters Road and Top Swanfels Road in the Swanfels State Forest. 
This fire is expected to burn for several days within inaccessible land. 
NORTH BRANCH (NEAR MARYVALE) -- ADVICE -- STAY INFORMED
Residents in the area of North Branch near Maryvale are being told to 'Stay Informed' about a bushfire burning in the are.
The blaze continues to burn near Young Road in North Branch.
It is burning within containment lines.
