One hundred and twenty dancers will light up the stage for the Ipswich State High School dance showcase tonight.
The talented dancers are part of the school’s Dance Excellence Program as well as from the school’s curriculum classes.
Teacher Madeline Tracey said that it’s going to be a really great show.
“The kids have been working so hard, we are already to go, we just finished a couple of routines and we had a full day of practice today and we are very excited ,” she said.
“The students will be performing lyrical, contemporary, entertainment routines, jazz, hip hop, a reprisal act, a dance film project that we are debuting — lots of variety for everyone.
Ms Tracey said the dancers were selected from routines from competitions that had been performing all year.
“We do audition some of those teams.
“Our junior excellence is whoever wants to participate, so some of these kids just started dancing.
“Our curriculum classes that’s anyone again who wants to join in,” she said.
“So some of these students have just started dance and it’s their first time on stage and then we’ve some kids who’ve been dancing for a really long time and they’ve auditioned and worked very hard.
“We’ve got a really big variety of dancers performing,”Ms Tracey said.
The dance showcase is on at Ipswich State High School’s X-Block from
6 tonight.
