Woman airlifted to hospital after suffering medical episode in flooded home

It’s been revealed an elderly woman was airlifted to hospital at the height of the flood emergency in the Lockyer Valley yesterday.

The woman, aged in her 70s, called Triple Zero after suffering a medical episode at her Laidley home on Monday.

Lifeflight Rescue Helicopter said that crews were able to land the helicopter in a paddock about 500m away. From there, neighbours drove paramedics to the woman’s flooded home.

She was treated at the scene before being transported to Archerfield Airport and then via ambulance (QAS) to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

LifeFlight has been assisting with the response to ex Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
