Second offender charged over allegedly moving a dead body

A second person has been charged, accused of moving a dead body to bushland in Preston last year.

The body of a 28-year-old Toowoomba man was found on January 7, 2021.

It’s believed the body was moved to the location, from a private residence in Toowoomba on January 5 or 6.

Detectives from the Gatton Criminal Investigation Branch have now charged a 37-year-old man for interfering with a corpse.

He has been denied police bail and remains in custody to appear before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.

It comes after a 36-year-old woman was also charged with interfering with a corpse in March 2021 in relation to the matter, as well as 13 counts of supplying a dangerous drug.

Police say the man and woman were known to the deceased.
