Here at River949, we want to see as many primary school students get a taste of exactly what it is like to be on the radio as we can.
Every week we choose a different school and then 5 different students from the chosen primary school are responsible for delivering the South East Queensland Weather forecast at 8.30am. This way our listeners know what to expect weatherwise for the day.
If you’d like your primary school students to take part, simply let us know by filling out the entry form below and we could be making contact with you soon!
Plus, we’ll even send you the memories. At the end of each week River949 will send you a copy of the five students who’ve gone to air so they can have keepsake to take home with them.
Please note, River949's Primary School Weather Watch will not run across Queensland school holidays.
The Lone Star Rib House is famous for its slow cooked Bar-B-Que Ribs. Cooked real, real, real slow. Texan style. ’Course they got a barn load-a other stuff too. Like burgers...
The burger was originally fashioned by ‘Old Dave’ (Fletcher Davis) in Athens, Texas in the 1880s. They think that’s so special we done gone put a tribute burger on the menu in his memorial. They also got Chilli Dogs hot enough to use as welding rods, delicious salads for the rabbits among ya and a whole wagon-load more tasty vittles that’ll make y’all happier than hogs in mud.
At the Lone Star Rib House they’ve rounded up a big ol’ helpin’ of Texas. Topped it off with a delightful dose of mid-west congeniality. Added a healthy serving of honest-to-goodness down-to-earth Texan food and finished it all with a touch of whip-crackin’ fun and frivolity, to bring you a experience y’all be hollerin’ to come back for. Enjoy.
