The Grand Autumn Festival in Springfield 2024 presents Songs of Anima

Dear friends across our vibrant multicultural community,

The Grand Autumn Festival in Springfield 2024

We hope that you’ve all been keeping safe and well.

On behalf of The Grand Autumn Festival in Springfield’s organising committee, I am delighted to share that the group, supported by Society M3, the Queensland Government, The City of Ipswich and, the Hon. Milton Dick will be presenting a special themed festival at the Robelle Domain Parklands, Springfield Central from 9am to 7pm on Saturday, 13 April 2024.

Songs of Anima is envisioned to be a jukebox multicultural production bringing the members and groups of our community together in a full day of the world searching for its soul.

Without spoiling too much, the story will revolve around a group of soul-searchers on an imaginary ship, Anima, that will be departing from Springfield to travel across the community’s cultural landscape. The voyage will have the soul-searchers visit many of the diaspora and cultural groups responsible for giving life and vibrancy to Queensland and our nation of Australia. Artists and participants from across a range of different walks and backgrounds will be featured in an epic showcase of colours, heritage, beauty, and song. In the wings, active participation from the local economy will come in the form of stalls selling delicious food, providing entertainment, and offering fascinating products and services to visitors throughout the day.

Collective soul-searching, identity, and connectedness will be the key themes in a grand, full-day celebration of multiculturalism in our modern community and the lives and traditions of those who came before us as we get to the heart of what makes an Australian in the year 2024.
