Historical Stonehouse Open Days

Stonehouse is a group of Heritage Listed Stone Buildings built in 1874. They are the Only Stone built Stagecoach Changing Station and Country Inn built in Queensland.  Come and experience the atmosphere of stepping back in time when Stagecoaches crossed our country.

27th July 2024 – open from 8.30am

See Working Horses Ploughing, Log Snigging and moving an old wood fired pie cart.  A Wheel Wright, Rope making, Wool Spinning, Weaving, Bush Poets, Country Music, a book release about Ipswich’s famous Stonemason Fank Williams and the first working Stagecoach to visit Stonehouse in OVER 100 years.

The amazing history of Stonehouse includes the fact it was even Blown Up by one of its owners.  We hope to one day have it restored back to how it originally was over 100 years ago.

The Event is aimed at showcasing these old Skills and trades as well as raising money to restore and maintain these amazing building from Queensland’s Past.
